What will you sacrifice for fresh rice paper rolls?

Review_Su Chilli

In a hurry? Want tasty Thai cuisine? Then head to Su Chilli restaurant in Sairee, Koh Tao. For the majority of my visits, this restaurant on the main road through Sairee left me in awe with its fast and efficient service.

Too make it even better the prices are very reasonable and affordable for those long term travellers on a tight budget. With great tasting food and finally some fresh spring rolls, I always left happy. The spring rolls are a burst of fresh, cool flavour. A real change to the heavy greasy dishes I was accustomed to from Bangkok’s street food.

Su Chilli, sadly, has no wifi. With little wifi elsewhere in Koh Tao and usually not working in guesthouses or hostels it is not a place where you can enjoy a meal and stay in contact with friends and loved ones. To do this, you can always head somewhere else for a drink after and continue to enjoy the peace of not being connected to social media 24/7.

The hot Thai weather isn’t catered for at Su Chilli. With a few scattered fans and open interior to outside, it can be quite hot. The heat is also amplified from the main road which is located on the restaurant’s doorstop. Its location however makes it easy to find and is great for people watching.

On my second visit to Su Chilli I had very high expectations for the service and efficiency. However, on this second visit, the service wasn’t nearly as good. I was quickly forgotten by the staff who tended to two larger groups who arrived shortly after myself. I watched as their orders were taken and food was served. Once they realised I had not received my meal or taken my order, they quickly apologised. They got to work and I had only a small wait for my food, and the service elevated to that of my previous visit.

    1. Good evening! Thank you so much for your kind words!! Definitely working on getting back into blogging – I’ve been really slack over the last year or two but enough is enough. So many fun adventures coming up… May even be popping back to Thailand for a little too. Happy Travels!
